E-2000 Reel TILT

Hello,
I have made good progress on the new slot but I am a bit baffled on its operation.
Earlier I identified 3 bad photo-transistors in the reel readers and replaced them
It now coins up but the reels just spin and then TILTs
When I reset it the reels lock and I try test #5 to see if the readers are now OK, but the reels are still locked so all I get is an error 1444 and then a 3 digit number indicating where the 3 reels are at that time -  121 say.
But since the reels are still locked I can not spin the reel to the next position  to see if all positions register OK.
This is odd since I was able to perform this test and advance the reels before I replaced the 3 bad photo transistors, but can't spin in the test now.
What am I doing wrong here?

So I pushed the clamps back one by one with a stick and rotated each wheel through a revolution and the Test 5 numbers all seemed to match the reel bars OK.
Lubed it up real good and the reels spin freely but the clamps never actuate and eventually it stops with a TILT
Coins are accepted, pay lines advance OK The cam switches checked out OK in Test mode and the clamps do actuate when I reset it.
Seems like an awful lot of things are working OK but it just won't stop the reels during a spin.


Always shows a door open error 5.0. .0.0.0.  but no other error beyond the TILT


I think the door switch may not be wired right. What colors or terminal numbers should be wired to it??
Is the switch open or closed with the door open??

Open. A wire connects to the top of the switch and on the bottom it is connected to the back, not front, terminal of the switch.
Push your finger into the hinge opening and listen for the *click* of the switch, if there is no *click* the switch may need to be moved back slightly by loosening the top switch bracket adjustment screwthen sliding the top of the switch back slightly and re-tightening the screw.

Thank you.  I just now traced it back further to the I/O Board and it looks like I have a bad 8T98/74LS368 which I just ordered because I could not find one on my bench. Will socket it as it seems to be a common failure point.
One issue at a time but this basket case is moving forward ! Thanks for your support !
