Bally 831 with a coin mechanism in the stand

This slot machine has an extra coin mechanism in the stand where all the wires are cut off and I can’t figure out where to connect the wires since I can’t find any cut off wires in the slot machine..
 
Someone who has an idea or a tip where or how I can connect the extra coin mechanism ?

Would that have been used by the casino as a back-up check on the number of coins going into the cash box?

It was used at the amusement park with two different kind of token/coins value at the same time where you could not win real money but only some kind of token..


I want to make it like it was meant to be and as original I can get it with token that goes in the hopper and real coins that goes straight down to the cash box in the slot machine stand so you only can win token

Some Swedish machines used 1kr in the base and 25 øre in the machine - maybe the machine on the stand isent the one born with the stand,it could have been changed - can i have a picture of the machine -,also open ?

I think so too, since there is no matching wires in the cabinet with the one from the stand.

i remember having a bally that needed a hopper in a base cabinet.  Not an export game as i got it in a casino buy - maybe a continental not an 831.  Maybe this is the missing cabinet?   No cabinet found - so i scrapped it.

I finally made it except coins in the stand too but it only accept the first coin, the next coin goes straight thru without getting accepted and it just say click from the switch...


If I put two coins in the door coin entry and the third coin in the stand coin entry it goes back and I only play on one line and
I loose the two other coins I put in the door coin entry?


The one in the door works great and accept all three coins so I can play on all three lines, so now I wonder what I have done wrong and what can I do to make it works on all three lines in the stand too?

your stand switch needs to be a three-terminal SPDT switch like the door switch, and you'd need to wire the stand switch like in the diagram below.


if the diagram doesn't make sense, yell.  The key thing is you need to insert the stand switch in the orange/green wire 74-1 path coming from the door coin switch.   


if you have working coin lockout coils so the game rejects coins after the 3rd, wire the door coil and stand coil in parallel so they both power at the same time.  Check that the 8200 ohm resistor doesn't get too hot when the coils aren't powered since you will increase the current thru it by adding the parallel coil.

Im not sure I understand what you are saying here but I think I get some parts of it, so I will try it out and challenge my self this weekend and hopefully learn something at the same time too, hehe


I connected two of the wires on the back of the right beau contact to the reel mechanism after finding the right places using voltage meter but I guess I must rather connect it somewhere else, in the top maybe?

here's the diagram in words which probably make less sense :-)  The key thing is the coin switch is disconnecting wire 74-1 when a coin is activating it.  You need that to happen when either coin switch is used.


for the coin switches, I'll refer to the terminals as:



COM - it's the common terminal that connects to one of the other terminals depending on the trip wire position
NC -  Normally Closed.  Connected to COM when coin switch at rest
NO -  Normally Open.  Connects to COM when coin pushes down the trip wire


the door switch is:


COM - has yellow wire 30 on it
NC - has orange/green wire 74-1 on it
NO - has blue/yellow wire 23-1 on it




if your stand switch isn't the same as the coin door switch or you just want to check, use an ohmeter/continuity tester to verify which terminals are COM, NC and NO.


do this:


1] disconnect orange/green wire from coin door switch NC and connect it to stand switch terminal NC via a new extension wire.
2] connect a new wire from coin door NC to stand switch COM
3] connect stand NO terminal to coin door NO terminal.  Leave existing wire on coin door NO.


the simplest thing is to make the connections at the door coin switch.  Wire 74-1 goes to multiple places, so you'd need to be careful if you inserted the stand switch at some other place.



is there a plug between the stand and game with available pins so you can wire thru that and allow separating the game and stand?
