Bally 5000+ slot

I just acquired a Bally 5000  machine  IT is set for tournament play as" Reel Faces of the Grand".  It lights up but the message center display strobes but displays no message,  The 2 LEDs on the MPU also strobe.  The machine has coin assemblies but they are not active.  I replaced the battery on the MPU as it was dead.  I would like to get this working again and activate the coin mechanism as well.


This machine does not have a win readout to the right of the reels.  DO I need to have that feature to make this machine operate?


The power supply seem to be putting out the correct voltages.


Also, the reels show no signs of life and do not move at all.

 Any ideas as to where I should start?
