First time Universal Video Poker refurbishing need help

Newbie here. I’m refurbishing a universal video poker machine and I can’t find a book for it anywhere. Even trying to find universal stuff is giving me problems. Anybody know? My first refurbishing project was Miss Pac-Man.

What's actually wrong with the machine? Some issues are very common among various manufacturers.

Thanks for responding.When I got it, it started with
1.Coin in Jam error. Cleaned and checked. I think I need order a new coin comparitor because it’s not accepting any coins. After going this site I realized They aren’t all the same.
2. Door jam error. Didn’t do that till I started. Maybe i just need to reset it but don’t see a reset anywhere. 3. 3. Need to fix the door latch so it can lock. (Include putting lock in) but that should be the easy part as long as I can get the right parts.
Not sure about payout yet because I can’t play it to check it.

  If you have not done it yet.  You need to insert a coin in your comparator for it to work.  See attached photo.  The coin will set in a small groove behind the sliding piece that says "Slide to replace coin".

Thanks for the info. Sometimes the red light is on sometimes it’s not. When the light is on, I insert a coin. The red light does a quick flash as coin passes by. I put a different coin in and it sent out to reject side. So it’s working but the machine isn’t counting coins entered. Any suggestions?
Also the coin drops in the “overfill” section not in the hopper.
