KLAR Coin Mechanism

I bought a 5¢ coin mechanism from KLAR , it works FLAWLESSLY. I have another five cent coin mechanism that came with my 1088 buy a pay and sometimes it doesn’t accept the coin , what am I missing ? What am I doing wrong , it needs to accept every coin .
Any help is appreciated. I’m lost been oiling it and messing with it for months .

Oil only attracts dirt and makes it worse.
There's a "dry" lubricant that sailors use on their sails so they don't stick together.
I spray that on the mech and the coin acceptors work much better.
I believe the lube comes in an aerosol can and called "Sail-Kote"?

The only thing I oiled was the axle on the cradle , I call it the little swingy thing but I think the technical name is cradle , but no I didn’t dump an access amount throughout the mech . Just a tiny drop .

In the casino we used sperm whale oil to lube the cradle, bet you can't find that any more.
Make sure your cradle is not wobbling on it's mounting pin, the hole on the cradle may be out of round from wear.

Every once in a while, it sends one back to me .

In the still of that video posted above, look towards the bottom center of the coin mech. You'll see a forked connector looking part held in place with a philips screw and to the left short measurement lines stamped in the metal. Loosen that philips screw and slide that fork to the left about 1mm and re-tighten. Let us know what happens.

Are you referring to the ( separator ) ? I saw that too , but neither of my nickel mechs have that .

Yes, I was referring to the separator. Have you tried adjusting the tab on the undersize lever? When the coin falls in, it should land in the cradle. Rotate the coin in the cradle towards the undersize lever. The legs of the two should have about 1/16" clearance between each other. To increase the gap, slightly bend the tab on the undersize lever toward the cradle. The undersize lever hangs somewhat like a fishhook and the tab on it to bend is just below it's pivot point. But maybe you can share a pic of your coin mech to be sure of what model you have.

IF there is no adjustment on the mech I have found that by making sure that my game is mounted as level as possible has almost eliminated coin issues.  In the event of a bent or otherwise defective coin I still have some issues.  Once I find where I want the stand I place the game on it and shim that whole package from the floor up.   Side to side AND front to back. It may not help you but it can't hurt to try.

I worked on the coin mechanism today as well , I’m a lot smarter today than I was yesterday . Adjusting the magnet 🧲 in far enough to stop a coin and then back it out just wide enough for the coin to pass was probably the best move I’ve made so far . When I get everything ironed out I’ll make a video .
