Looking to purchase my first slot...

Hi,


I'm looking into purchasing my first slot machine. Since I can't find my first choice (IGT Price is Right video from early 2000's), I'm thinking of going with a WMS Bluebird 1.


I took a look at the game list and it appears that most of the games I like are Bluebird 1 games.


Big Money Cheese Caper   
Milk Money      
Raking it in      
Shop Til You Drop    
Super Jackpot Party    
Wild Wilderness    


All of the above games will run on a single monitor, correct?


Does anyone know the going rate for a single monitor Bluebird 1? Or does the price vary per the game that is installed?


What is the process to swap games?


I understand that the games above run on different operating systems? If so, would I need a OS flash card for that particular game?

Prices depend a lot in the area you live.  Also if there are none nearby, you have to figure the cost of freight to your place.  The average cost is about 1K, but again higher or lower depending on availability near you.

Swapping games involves running a clear procedure with a clear card.  Then you install the OS and game cards and go through the setup process.  There are various youtube videos of setting up the game, it is not all that difficult.  Takes me about a minute to do the setup process, after the machine boots up.

All the games on your list except Shop 'Til you drop use the same OS card.  When you buy a game, most of the time an OS card is included or can be purchased from the person selling it.

So if I get a machine with Big Cheese, I only need to get the game flash cards for the other games, correct?


Also, I understand that inserting bills is the only way to add credits to the machine if there is not a printer?

That is correct, you only need the game card, as long as the game uses the same OS.  You will find out soon enough that you will need at least one good OS from every OS family in order to give you max flexibility.

You don't need a printer to use the TITO boards.  If you buy it with the credit option, you can add credits if you press the service button.  If you are going to buy a bb1 cabinet, just get a printer with it, they almost always come with one, if not, it is really easy to put one in it as parts are plentiful.

I'll have to check if the one I'm buying has the credit option. I don't think it does. I know it comes with a printer (not TITO).


I looked at the TITO @ Home product sold on this site and looks like a pretty good option.

The credit option is a function of the TITO board.  The TITO board can be programmed so that if you hit the service button on your machine, a certain amount of credits are put into the machine, that is what I refer to when I mention the credit option.  If you don't have a tito board, the ONLY way to add credits to a WMS machine is Bills and coins.

The machine I bought came with Big Money cheese caper

I purchased these game cards:

Milk Money (came with OS)
Super Jackpot Party (game only)
Rakin it in (game only)

Milk Money and Big cheese work with their respective OS cards with no issue.

Super Jackpot Party and Rakin it in will not work with either OS card. Machine displays incompatibility error upon boot

I thought I did that combination, but obviously not. It works now

The SSG-000-1490 will work on a BB1?
Where do I look to confirm I have the v2000 BIOS which I’m reading is what this game requires?

SSG-00-1490 will work on a bb1.  The bios chip is the 32 pin eprom that is inside your mpu, big rectanguar chip with a label that says SBOT and the bios version after it.
