Anyone have any idea why the Super jackpot bonus is slow (especially whack a pooper) on a BB1?

How much memory on your MPU? Also check cpu temps, if you didn't redo the thermal grease, it could be your cpu overheating and it throttles.

RAM=512MB

Not sure when the last time thermal grease was applied

Is it recommended to remove the hanging MPU cage to do this or just do it in place?

To take the MPU cage out requires loosening the 2 hanging bolts and just remove?

I was able to remove the cage and heatsink

Make sure you remove all the old dried up paste on the heatsink and cpu die.

I just acquired Super Jackpot Party, and I'm having the same issue. Were you ever able to determine the cause and/or cure for this? Did new thermal paste help? (BTW, I also have 512MB RAM)

Are you guys running the BB1 version or the BB2 compatible version. I'm wondering if there's a difference in performance between the 2. You can tell if you have the BB2 version if you have the volume control icon on the screen.

Aha! I do indeed have the volume icon on the screen; it's in the upper right hand corner. I guess that would confirm the BB2 compatible version, so there could be something to that assessment.

Well, loaded the bb2 compatible version first and there's indeed a general sluggishness even during normal game play. The bonus is really sluggish, even just adding up the winning amounts during the bonus is really slow and there are sound hiccups.

The bb1 version does not exhibit any of the general sluggish play. During normal game play the reels spins are snappy and smooth and the graphics look somewhat sharper. The bonus round is completely devoid of any sluggishness, all the presents dance smoothly, credit roll up is smooth and the party pooper animations are synchronized with the sound with no hiccups.

I guess the solution, then, is for me to look for a BB1 version. That might be a tough lift, though.

Plenty of the BB1 versions out there, I should have an extra here if you need one.

The other one is also a BB1 only version, so it will probably run OK. The game was one of their popular titles, so when the BB2's were rolled out and BB1's retired, casinos still wanted the game, so they ported it to work on the bb2 platform. Only a few games got that treatment. Manufacturers do that for their popular titles when they go from one platform to the next (Like blazing 7's for bally, a handful of IGT games like Cleo, Davinci, Stinkin Rich).

I have tried all three versions on the BB1.
1221 did not always play nice with TITO and would sometimes go to hand pay when cashing out.
G1.3 V1020 played fine with no issues.
H9 was sluggish like some of the other games that use H9 or H13 OS.

Hmm I find this very interesting. I'm using the OS that I got with my "Dean Martin's Wild Party", and I have to say, for the most part it works well with that game, but I do notice some lagging whenever a large payout would hit, like anything from 45-60 line hit. It's a minor thing for that game, for sure, but I'm wondering now only because it's in the H9 family.

Anything in the H.x.xx family was really meant to be used on a BB2. If you just replace your cpunxt (bb1) to a cpunxt2 (BB2), all those games will play without hitches. You just need to understand that if you play any game that is not on the H.x.xx or the E1.11 family, you will have to put back your cpunxt mpu.

The BB2 mpu is a direct drop in replacement for the bb1 mpu. So you could just switch back and forth. It is also important to note that when you have the bb2 (AKA CPUNXT2) mpu, not all games bb2 will play nice in your cabinet as some will require the use of dual widescreen monitors. But it is certainly worth the upgrade now that CPUNXT2 mpu's are well under $300.00 (there are some on e-bay right now for $125)
