Gameking 6.2 (044 board) eeprom device error

Just got a hold of a gameking.  battery was dead replaced and got it running.  Long story short, i tried a different bill validator in it because the one it had didnt take bills to well.  Not i'm in a loop with a screen that says eeprom device error turn jackpot key.  I keep trying it never clears.


i pulled the battery, and put the old validator back in and got it up to games but when i open the door, it goes back to eeprom device error screen.
does it need a ram clear with key chip or is something else going on?  Any insight would be great.

I had this happen after a battery change. I ended up doing a Keychip to clear it.

Got everything set up ticket printer too. still have a few issues


will throw eeprom error while playing pics are attached.  talk to the new life games slot shop briefly said its a bad eeprom which chip is that?
also will print tickets but wont validate them back in the machine.  I assume i missed a setting if someone knows

The eeprom is the 8 pin 24c256 chip on the mother board. Most are socketed but I have seen some soldered in. You will need to clear & key it after you replace it. Do you have a TITO installed? It's not going to accept tickets if not.

i assume i do i have all the menus as pictured in the links.  and the lady said they used to print and use their own tickets

excuse my not knowing which chip is the eeprom.  i dont see the numbers you mentioned.  on my board pictured where is it located?

i found it its a little tiny chip on the backplane?  it is a socket but how do you get it out safely?

Use a small screwdriver and pry it out.  When you replace it with a new one make sure you pay attention to which way the IC is orientated (notch or dot indicting Pin 1).  In other words you can put it in backwards if you're not careful and end with the same issue.

i pushed on the chip little bit.  been playing 30min and it hasnt faulted.  will see needs more test lol


i did what RB suggested with the ticket in ticket out, now the machine doesnt print tickets it just locks for handpay with key.
anyone with experience can help me with tickets?


was printing fine but not accepting before doing those sas settings.

just had another eeprom error so i guess that at least part of the chip is bad seems random opening a door, playing a game etc

It probably needs to be replaced then.  You'll need a keychip that RB can help you with to re-enable your TITO and other options.

yeah have a master keychip that stays in the machine.

wasnt that little chip.  mpu board is being tested by a slot tech today i'll know tomorrow i guess if its that or the main board that is on the wall of the cabinet.

Just an update.  It was my mpu board its running great now.
