BB2 Touchscreen Monitor problem

Need your help gents:


Top monitor is working.  Bottom one is not.  Checked DVI Connections they are good.  Fan is operating and their is a green light on this Wells Gardner monitor.  I ordered a a new video card to help solve the problem, but that didn't work either.  The touch screen works....I can here the volume go up and down etc., And still play the game, albeit I can't see what's going on.


I tried hooking a VGA cable up to a desktop computer to the monitor as well, still nothing.  I'm assuming the monitor is shot?  Or perhaps I missed something else in another troubleshooting step? 


Appreciate anybodys guidance.

Since the machine is booting up, I would assume the backlight is not working, probably your inverter is shot and needs to be replaced.  If you unplug the video cable, do you get the No Video message?

Unplugged the video cable and didn't receive any "No Video Message".




I tried booting up the machine without the video cable plugged in and it moved the game to the top monitor.

Yeah, that means the bottom monitor is responding correctly to the polls by the mpu, so the system believes everything is OK.  That pretty much puts the blame on backlight failure.  Either the inverter (which supplies power to the backlight) is bad, or the CCFL's themselves are bad (the actual light elements).  You can try replacing the inverter first to see if that brings it back to life.  Replacing the CCFL's is not as easy as replacing the inverter.  Or you could just get another monitor, they are cheap enough nowadays. An inverter would probably run you 50-60.  A working monitor anywhere between $100-$150 typically.

***update***** that's what the problem was.  working good as now.
