S2000 TD wild Cherry Ram Error issue

Just picked up a TD Wild Cherry S2000 S2000 machine with a battery damaged MPU, I put a spare working one it it with a new 2032 battery and upon turning it on, after about 30-45 seconds the bill acceptor cycles and "Ram Error" shows in the display. When I open the main door & turn the jackpot key to clear it just stays the same, no change. The jackpot reset switch is wired correctly but still turning the key does nothing. I tried a 2nd spare MPU with the same results. Both MPUs are the non enhanced 502/504 type. I even tried another SB chip, thinking the other one might be corrupt but still turning the key with the door open does not clear the Ram Error. Anyone run into this before? It's a first for me.

I've had a MPU that didn't see the jackpot reset switch closing, but you already swapped that, so I would take a look at the switch itself (test with a multimeter), and the wiring going to it.

If the reset switch turns out okay with the multimeter check, then I'd try that suspect MPU in another known good cabinet if possible and try a known good MPU in this TD Wild Cherry cabinet.
This will tell you if the MPU is bad or if the backplane is bad.

Also, have you tried swapping the RAM chips with known good ones in the suspect MPU?
That would tell you if the RAM chips are bad.
