odd error codes while trying to enable bill acceptor

s plus with a 16 mhz board. had a code 12, and a dead battery.  replaced battery, ram clear, go thru the steps, no hitches, works well. move on to BV chip. install chip, turn on and get a 3100 code( hopper was out). replace game chip, get a 61. push white button, get a 61-1, turn reset key and game works well.  reinstall bv  chip.    now get a code 21. put back game chip, code 61, do the reset , works great.  try bv chip again( different chip, just in case) . this time get a code 67. reinstall game chio, code  61 again, reset as above, all works well.  at this point i stop, game works flawlessly with coins.

any ideas?

Whenever you get a 67 turn machine off and back on again.  You should never get a 67 after installing a bv set chip.

shouldnt get a 21 or 3100 either, but i did. no idea why

Having the same issue with my BV.  Won’t enable, but works great otherwise.  Getting code 21 as well.


Love to hear a suggestion on this.

Wondering of both of you got the set denomination chip from the same vendor and the chip they sent you was defective.

I had to use clear chip, and reinsert BV chip a few times.  Eventually it worked.


Brand new bv chip from popular eBay vendor.

a set 90 and set 15 chip got it going. keep in mind, it was a 16mhz board, not the common 10 mhz
