Hi folks, I have already read some entries about repairing IGT S 2000 power supplies. Is there anyone else in the forum who can tell me what to measure or replace? many thanks for the help

Youâ€™ve might have already read this, but this one is pinned in the general forum. A lot of good info on parts identification there. As far as specific failure points, Iâ€™m not sure.

You should measure the 13V and 25VDC output. The voltage should fall within Â±10Â° of this nominal value.

Measure the voltage of pin #7. Pin 7 is a logic circuit and is often the cause of "Netplex Link Down" even when the output voltages are ok. The voltage should be >6vdc.

The majority of the time, repairing a power supply only involves replacing the electrolytic capacitors. Don't neglect the small capacitors on the little daughter board which effects pin 7. Replace them all.

what do I have to pay attention to and which caps many people mean or where is the position that a gentleman describes where a small part cannot be exchanged

The caps needing replacement are included in the link I provided earlier. I went through the photos and found your supply in the photo linked below. It has the caps labeled very nicely. As far as the hard to replace part. I do not know.

I would have to find the schematic to point you to c50. Where did you get your information? And caps kits could be available. I donâ€™t know if they are. I usually buy my caps from sites like mouser.com or digikey.com.

Perhaps other members here could help you further. I see C50 is mentioned in the post, but I do not know if that would also apply to your power supply. My knowledge here is lacking.

I also see the post about the switching transistor. Personally I would replace the electrolytic capacitors in your power supply first, and then see if it works. No use trying to track down a hard to find part if it isnâ€™t needed.

There are at least five companies that manufacture power supplies for the S2000 and they are not the same. My 3Y power supply has no C50. The Win-Tact and Condor do.
SUZOHAPP has capacitor kits for Win-Tac WP203, 3y CP-9826 and Condor SP-1709. Be sure you get the correct kit for your power supply.

Ok some info on pin 7 I usually see them between 5 and 7 vac in a good power supply. The voltage on this pin is not the only critical part tho. What this pin is is it feeds â€œsin inâ€ it is a chopped ac signal used by the machine to tell if your input power is at stable frequently. If the frequency is not correct or the circuit in the power supply that brings this now to logic level the mpu will either give an error or most common be held in reset(the vfd says â€œnetplex link downâ€ whenever it cant talk to the mpu). Usually if you do a full recap of the power supply this pin will work as it should. If you use a cap kit make sure you buy a quality one and hopefully they fixed it by now but the happ instructions for one model power supply had a few errors in it. Uf ratings were printed wrong. Just make sure the uf is the same voltage has to be the same or higher.

I can help get you some information on what to check on the power supply or in the machine to further troubleshoot. If the PS does not power up at all even after the cap replacement, we will need to start fresh and see what you have and where you need to work from here.
