I have an s2000
3 Reel
SB100065
SG000523
DSV00042

I replaced it with SB100057

All pins are correct and chip was put in correctly.

So When I turn the machine on I get stuck in an eprom error loop.

1. I turn machine on
2. It gives error "BASE EPROM CRC ERROR -0xF000"
3. I clear error by turning key until it says hold button.
4. I hold button until it says close door.
5. I close door.
6. It starts doing its test again and says "Call Attendant"
7. I open door and it gives error "BASE EPROM CRC ERROR -0xF000"
Im now stuck in this loop. I followed instructions like 10 times it just keeps the same loop.

I finally wanted to test my original SB again. So I put my original in and got a mismatch error, cleared it, now my game is working.

So does anyone know why my SB100057 chip is not working?

Is it possible I need a different SG chip for this SB? Is there a better SG chip that will run all SB?

Is it an enhanced mpu or 500 series?
Sounds like you have enhanced since the sg 000523 is pretty standard for them.
SG000363s are the standard for 500 series.
In your case it sounds like a bad SB chip.

How do I find out if its enhanced mpu or 500 series?

Also in the munu it says PV1 Game SG000523 6F9F and then it jumps to PV3 base. No PV2 is listed, is this normal?

Post a photo of the circuit board if you cannot give us the numbers etched onto the board or see the labels.

Does the MPU tray pull out with a wire handle? If it does it's enhanced.

Here is a pic of my board. If its not enhanced does that change anything with regard to my SB100057 chip not working?

That is a series 500 board, generally SG000363 are what we recommend but that is not the issue that you are having.
Still think your SB100057 chip is bad.

SB1000057 is made for a 3 coin multiplier glass.
SB100065 is made for a 2 coin multiplier glass.

I still don't understand why you tried to change the chip ( although the glass doesn't affect the chip) - the payouts would be all wrong!

Can we see the label on the chip please?

Let's see if you have a copy or an original OEM chip.

~~Are you able to show us a photo of it?~~ okay...it looks OEM....maybe someone stuck it in backwards and turned the power on?

You can place a WTB ( Want To Buy) ad in the Classifieds section of NLG for one.

I'm sure a member/vendor will have one for ya!

The 363s work best in the home environment on 3 reel machines.
Ease of set up, and they pretty much work in most any non-speciality S2000 theme 3 reel.
363s tend to throw random reel tilts when used on 5 reel machines that is why we recommend SG000523 for them.

Of course if you have a Cleopatra, Leopard claw, Reel Touch or Vision machine these SG recommendations do not apply.

Your chip probably is not fake, probably corrupt.
That can happen any number of ways. Installing it in backward or static electrical discharge to name a few.

I was wondering how the game will assign the payouts when a SB is changed? Are the payout options not on the SB? I have a multi demon setup with 4 different %s. Will all this carry over to a new SB?

All should carry over, the pay tables are contained on the SB chip.

Is there any other combability issue that could be at play here? The person who sold me the chip says my SG000523 should be changed to 363.
