IGT Game King - No Sound, Please help

Hello,   I have a Game King Machine w/ 044 MPU board w/ 3319 R gameboard and 39 boot chip.
For some reason my sound totally quit working.   I went into settings as well as I could and it seems all in the ON position.    Someone told me to try replacing the AMP card located
in the top section of the machine mounted on the left, so I did that - still no sound.     Any tips on what I should do or try next?    I am a novice at this stuff so any details
are appreciated.

Unfortunately it's probably your flash card.  Replace it with a different one and see if your sound returns.

can you tell me where to find that on the machine and maybe point me in the right direction on where to buy?  Sorry I have never done this.

It's a daughterboard on your MPU board which is located under the monitor self.  Make sure to turn off the power before removing and replacing the MPU board (or any component for that matter).  The flash board is easily damaged by electrostatic discharge (static electricity), so make sure to ground yourself and try to handle the board by the edges. 


I'm not sure who may have an extra flash board for sale. You can try the vendors at the top of the page.  Hopefully someone will see this and send you a message.  They aren't as easy to find as they used to be.

Often (but not always) when sounds fails due to the flash board being bad it's thermal related.  Try this.  Turn on the machine and play it to verify the sound doesn't work.  Keep playing it or just let it sit for 30 mins or so.  Then turn it off and right back on.  After it boots up again see if the sound works.  If it does I'd bet my money on the flash card.

I have a similar problem...After letting the machine sit off for 10 mins or so and turn the machine back on, my sound works perfectly...After about 2 mins or so the sounds just cuts out and will not return until game is turned off and let sit for awhile...sounds thermal to me but I don't know where to look from here...Anyone with any ideas?...Not the sound amp...sometimes there is a loud pop randomlyAny help would be appreciated..

I have had some luck just removing mpu and reseating it.

044 or 3902 MPU?  If 044 then more than likely the flash card is bad.

Same thing with me.  As soon as i turn the machine on and if i dont hear the "pop" i turn it right off and back on and will usually hear the pop then the sound works fine.
Its almost like the sound file doesnt get loaded

99.9% sure it's a bad flash card then.  Unfortunately I'm not aware of anyone repairing flash cards.

Yours sound like a bad sound card on a 3902 board.  There's 4 caps that go bad and cause popping sounds.  If it is a 3902 change the sound board out, if it's an 044 it would be the first time I've heard one making a pop sound on powerup.
