Sound Problem

I just got another S2000 machine the other day and while checking it out I discovered a sound problem. The sound is fine in normal play mode but when it enters the free game bonus spins the only sound is just a very loud buzz in the speakers. The buzz ends when the game returns to standard play. Does anyone have any idea what might cause this ? Could I have a bad sound card or should I try reseating it ?


The game is Wild Sapphires.  502 board, SB100239, SG000372, sound SIMM DSV00042 (Generic).

DSV00042 has no bonus spin sounds but DSV00082 does. Not sure it's compatible with your game but it wouldn't hurt to try if you have one available.

Thanks for the input. I'll try the DSV00082 first.


I'm also upgrading to the 504 B board since I don't like the noise I'm getting.

I wanted to give a follow up on my sound issue.

I upgraded to a 504 board and swapped the DSV00042 SIMM for a DSV00082 and there is now bonus sound. Problem solved thanks to the good advice of this forum.
