Double Diamond Deluxe Issue

It has been awhile since I posted.  The slot I brought my mother has been working great for over a year since the last set of fixes I did on it, but I have forgotten everything I learned back then and it is having an issue that I feel like will be a simple fix, but I have not been able to figure it out.   

As I mentioned, it has been working great, but a couple of weeks ago it stopped working.   It powers on fine and seems to go through the power-up cycle successfully, the bill validator whurrs and the 3 reels spin.   However, the bottom yellow light on the candlestick flashes fast.  The top light is off and it is showing a 2 in the Coins Played and 1 in the Winner Paid.   It was just showing a 0 in the Coins Played as well.  But coins just drop through to the coin tray and can not play it.

I have tried to go into the test menus a few times using the jackpot key and the white test button but not seeing much there. 

I did see that a reference that stated that the bottom candlestick fast flash/top candlestick light off suggested the drop door was open.  I made sure it was closed.  I also noticed that when I looked in the test mode Input Test it showed the Drop Door Switch was on (1).  I am not sure if the switch is active with the door closed or open but I could not find where the switch for the drop door actually is.

Any thoughts?  I imagine this will be a simple fix for you all.

The candle light flashing will likely turn off after the first paid game is played.

Does the dollar bill validator bezel ("$1 to $100 Face Up") light up? If so, have you tried inserting a $1 bill in good condition and will it play?

It's quite possible that you just need to re-seat your sample coin and adjust the potentiometer in the coin comparator to make it less likely to reject coins.  See this video for a visual guide:

Thanks Knagl.  I will try that.   The Insert Coins is lit on her machine.  I did look at the comparator and a Quarter was in there and visually looked good but I will tweak the sensitivity and try that out and get back to you.    It will be a few days before I will get a chance to try it out.

Knagl, that worked, thank you very much.   For what it is worth, the potentiometer was turned all of the way counter-clockwise already but wiggling it back and forth seemed to have cleared something up because it is accepting the coins now.
