New to slots, trying to get my IGT to work could use some direction

Hello to all, This is admittedly the second forum I've joined in the recent months. I will ask the same questions here that I did on the other site in hopes of some real solutions. I will give details of my machine's issue to anyone that can give me real solutions not just email me the same set of instructions on the use of a clear chip and key chip. With every attempt at making the machine function it only seems to function less and less. I started out with a new (used) cpu board, the old one had a Varta battery leak onto it, along with a clear chip 224 and a key chip 45. I worked off the instructions exactly as written. Things were going great until the pay out percentage and that's when the machine and the instructions parted ways.
Now pretty much nothing I do will clear anything so I can start over. This is the part that others seem to not read, I don't know how to get back to a "clean slate" with this machine. There has to be a "mega" clear/reset on it right? Having a working slot machine is very cool to me and I want it to work and I know there are real techs out there not just "chip changers" that can help me out. Hope I didn't sound like some ticked off jerk.  KevinT

It sounds like you goofed up during the key chip to set the machine back up. Just clear it again and start over. On the very first page for S2000 there are instruction in order to set up.

I've done that about 6 times no luck.

If you accidentally put a chip in the wrong direction, it is ruined. When you put the clear chip in, do the amber lights come on?. Are you getting the lights for the key chip too?  You are keeping the door open for key settings?

All lights all the time now. Initially two amber. Like I said in my first post things were going well until the pay out percentage step. If I need a new clear chip then I will buy one and try again.

I went ahead and ordered another clear chip and key chip in case I did manage to put them in backwards. Just to be clear the chips go in with the half round notch facing you when looking at the board, correct?

That is what I suspected. If you look at the board it shows the notch. And yes facing the outside with the led lights. Did you install the SB chip backwards too? If yes you will need a new one of those too.

If you put them in backwards, you are not the first or the last

The socket has a notch on the side where the chip's notch needs to match.  There should also be an etched drawn white outline with the chip's notch as well.

S+ will usually kill a backward chip but S2000/game king usually does not.  I would look for bent/missing pins and make sure the chip is not off a row to the left or right, that's easy to do too and I have done it many times.

My  new chips are supposed to be here saturday, time will tell. If I get things going again I just hope I don't duplicate the same problem I had at the beginning of this journey.

Do you mind also sharing what you were trying to change or accomplish?
Or what the symptoms are that you are trying to fix.

I've key chipped a few machines, and never set the payout percentage initially. There is a default and it should work just fine without changing it.

Where there other errors?
