Bill validator not accepting bills

I recently purchased this S2000 Triple Diamond, replaced the battery, removed the Varta battery and other then door closure issues from time to time it seems to be working with exception of the bill validator. I went through the settings and it shows enabled and installed. I never hear it cycle upon power up. I checked the connections, all dip switches are off and I see the two red leds on the WBA from the right side are lit. It’s a cash only multi-denomination machine so I need the bill acceptor to work. Any suggestions on what else to test or check? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re-seat the cash box, close the door and wait for the yellow bill light to come on...if it does, try and see if it accepts a $20 dollar bill.

Try running the auto config. I think it’s menu 4.3

The cash box already had the door bypassed, I had tried to reseat anyway but nothing happened. The door bezel was busted off and circuit board for leds was just hanging and it doesn’t light up.

I ran the auto config and it shows the printer 2 and bill acceptor installed.

I guess I need to check the wiring harness and figure out what the other end connections are to make sure everything is seated properly.

After digging around some more and removing the BV and cash, I took out the cage and a little knob fell out. Trying to figure out where this came from I see it’s off the side of the cash box. I’m able to tap it back in with a hammer and seems to be holding. Now after putting everything back together and I seat the cash box, I can hear it cycling. I tried getting it to take bills but all I had near me was dollar bills and it rejected all 3 of them. Went to get larger bills and only had 5’s and 10’s but now my door is giving me problems and I’m thinking the optics are bad. It’s been working intermittently since I powered the machine up or either some connections are loose. But the BV sounds terrible when it cycles up during power on. I’m wondering if I should just replace the whole thing including getting another cash box. At least now I know that hopefully the circuit is good and I just have a bad BV.
