Bally 6000 clear procedure

I replaced the battery and have installed u28 and U43 clear chips push the pseudo and test buttons and turn on power. I do not get the clear only error 8100. This board as 3 different dip switches do I need to change a switch setting?

Ds1 switch 8 must be on to do the clear process. After you get clc,  shut off and turn #8 back off and put your chips back in. It would have been best to get leave in clears , no need to mess with chip changes.

Yes you will have to turn DIP DS1 sw8 on then turn the machine on while depressing the appropriate buttons.

On DS1 I turned number 8 on and only get 8100 displayed no clear. All dip switches on DS1 are on so I need to change that?

All DIP switchs on DS1 are turned on on my machine also. I'm sure I did not have to change any others when I did a clear.

Any idea why I am just getting an 8100 code instead of a clear?  I tested the test and pseudo buttons and they are good.

I believe you only use switch 8 with live in clears. The removable clear chips, you do not use switch 8.

Make sure the battery voltage is reaching the RAM chips.

Use a volt meter, Black lead on lower left pin, Red on upper right pin, with chip notch facing away from you. Let us know what your battery voltage shows.

Thanks to all your help. I never knew how to test voltage after a battery replacement, now I do!  I had no voltage going to the ram chips, the problem was insufficient solder on the positive axial lead. Added more solder and bam had proper voltage. Once again thanks for all the directions
