I bought a couple machines locally recently, and this I believe I have an S+ machine, whenever I plug it in and power it on the Lights will come on and everything will pop up and then it will display a ROM test and then quickly say C17 afterwards, and then display a C1 after that. Was wondering if anyone had any advice on what I could possibly do thank you.

Take a picture of the machine and post it here. The filesize has to be under 1MB so resize it as necessary.

This display you're looking at is the progressive display, probably a CHAMII+. Once we have a picture we can tell you what type of machine you have and get you pointed in the right direction.

You have a S2000 slot machine and it looks like your main power supply located behind the reels isn't working. First thing to check. Is the power switch for the machine turned on? It's located above the ticket printer. If it is, turn it off, then remove reel #1 and reel #2 and make sure the power supply is fully seated and secured. Then put the reels back in and turn on the switch and see what happens.

Was really hoping that would work but I have completed the task, Power supply is nice and resecured and still nothing. Still No power to the reels, No display on the credits/win counter. Even when i turn the on and off switch off the above/progressive display will stay on.
Any other recommendations?

The metal box in the back of the machine with the outlet on it is the power distribution box. Make sure all those connectors are fully plugged in. If they are then your power supply is most likely bad and you'll need to replace it.

The progressive display is on all the time because it is plugged into an unswitched AC outlet connector on the power distribution box. So as long as the machine is plugged it will be on. The interior light operates off a separate power supply inside the power distribution box.

While you at it, pull out your MPU board (it's mounted vertically on the left side with the handle and leds on it) and check for a green varta battery, hopefully it doesn't have one. If it does check it for signs of leaking/corrosion. You may need another one of those too if it has leaked, but unless it's obviously damaged you won't know until you get the power supply working.

Are you talking about the corner ones i provided a picture of? Kind of unsure where to check for the distributor, But yes there is varta battery corrosion but not much damage done it seems yet.

The power distribution box is in the bottom of the cabinet and has the convenience outlet on the front. One of the plug on the top goes up to the power supply and provides AC power to it. I just wanted to make sure it's plugged in, and it probably is, but you never know for sure until you check. Trying to make sure that we've checked all the obvious things before recommending you find a new power supply. Trying to avoid the " I replaced the power supply but it does the same thing" post.

The varta battery is going to need to go. Hopefully it hasn't already damaged the traces below it. You won't know until the power supply is working correctly. The traces in the vicinity of the battery that get damaged are for the door status circuitry and will cause door open M (main) and B (bill validator) errors when they're actually closed. If you're experienced with soldering/desoldering components you can remove the board from the tray and desolder it. I have the equipment and skills to do it that way, but find it much easier to just get a pair of channel locks and grip it where it's soldered on and gently twist it to the left and right. The tabs where it's soldered on will break off flush with the board. Then you can clean up the are with some vinegar to neutralize it and then rinse that off with water.

i had also checked that out before i replied, all those seem to be intact and secure. How much is a power supply by chance? Is it possible to repair the power supply?

Power supplies are still readily available and reasonably priced. Send a PM to member Jim (Midwest Slots) he may be able to hook you up with a good working one. As far as repairing it goes, sometimes replacing the electrolytic capacitors in the will bring them back to life. If you want to attempt that pull it out and take it apart and look for "domed" caps and other signs of damaged components. There are a couple of members here that may be able to do that for you if you don't have the tools/skills, but it may be cheaper to get a working used one? Difference is a working used one could crap out tomorrow, but a repaired, recapped one should last a home use machine for a long time.

I'd be more concerned about the MPU board. Those are getting more expensive by the day for the reason you've seen on your board. Leaking batteries destroying them. Expect to pay $125 - $175 for a used working MPU board.

I'm assuming you bought this machine used as is from somewhere?

Yes, I bought 3 machines locally used as is from marketplace. One of them works great, and the other 2 are having similiar issues. Displays not workings, lights lighting up etc. They are all different models unfortunately.

Ok that's cool. Too bad they weren't the same so you could swap parts around to help troubleshoot them. Start with a new power supply for the S2000.

Also worthy of checking is the CMOS RAM battery (coin cell with the yellow edge). It's probably dead or close to it too. If so, replace it with a coin cell battery holder, then you can replace the battery without having to do any soldering. Personally I replace them with CR2354 holder and battery. They last many years in a S2000.

Heard that, So the power supply may be the culprit for the displays. Definately will need a verta battery and what would be the symptoms of a dead cmos ram battery?

Yes, that and the other machine lighting. The varta battery is optional. Just remove it, toss it in the trash, and clean the board the best you can. You don't need or want one. If the CMOS battery is low or dead you'll get a "Main Battery Low" error message in the blue display when the machine boots up. Before you get there you'll get a RAM error message and will need to turn the jackpot reset key a few times. Then it will tell you to press and hold the self test button for 2-3 seconds (it's the white button on the MPU above the LEDS). It will then tell you to close the main door. That's where you may run into a problem if your MPU has suffered damage to the traces. You'll close and move the latch down on the main door, but the MPU doesn't see it. If it does see the door close then you'll hopefully be ok. It should say "initializing" and may give an EEPROM error message. If it does follow the same steps. If that completes successfully the machine will spin the reels and if the battery is low it will tell you then.

The jackpot reset key that you'll need is a 2341. They're universal, so if you have one for your other machine(s) it should work.

I see that style of 3Y power supply in the Game King cabinets fairly regularly and if only the peripheral AC power comes up when you flip the switch it's almost always the power supply not coming up.
Normally as mentioned it's a full recap and they come back but I have come across a fair number where they'll blow MOSFETs and diodes for no obvious reasons other than it was running the night before and the next morning it was stone dead.

Have replaced the power supply, Now machine will make a click, Bill validator will light up for a split second, a light in the bottom glass will light up for a split second and all the mpu lights will light up for a split second and make a clicking sound, still no display or power to the reels.

You have to get the MPU powered up without any red Leds lighting up..

Disconnect all the other junk for now....you could still have a bad power supply or shorted backplane board.

Disconnect the fluorescent lights, the printer, and the bill validator ...get down to the bare minimum and see if your blue VFD displays anything at least.

Have disconnected a couple things now, Turned on the power. The clicking has stopped and no lights are flashing on the MPU . Something changed from before tho, Whenever I power it on now The upper cabinet light kicks on and a fan seems to start up and the front door cabinet light stays on now. I believe we have maybe made some progress?

Maybe ??
