Mills PENNY slot - looks like an old hifi to me...

What the heck is this? Has anyone seen one of these? It does look like a custom cabinet but it's interesting. I like the giant U.S. penny on it.

Not English penny: first because of the huge US penny badge on the front, and second because the Limey penny is 'way
too big in diameter to fit through the coin slot & mechanism pictured.

My guess: an old straight mechanical Mills updated with a new, much-bigger cabinet, for a better-looking
fit in a casino with more modern machines. Probably one of the tiny low-budget small strip joints or gas station
or Laundromat, etc. going for an inexpensive upgrade. Not something you'd see in Harrah's or CalNeva.

Would be very interesting to track down the converter company, and/or the user/target. A probably
quite rare machine, for one who cares about wierdos. I'd buy it (after some haggling) just for the uniquity.

still say reimport  the penny stuck on front came out in 1959  slot is much older.  a plate is put over coin head who know what it was before  maybe a 3d coin which is between our dime and penny

Whatever it is, it still looks more like furniture, rather than a slot. Still love 60's stuff/styling though.
I feel like it should be next to one of these...
