Looking for a Thermal Printer for Bally Alpha S9000
« on: April 14, 2022, 08:17:40 pm »
Hi all,

Please ping me if you have a used working thermal printer available. The current one I have is not working. I am not sure the brand (picture attached) but would like to buy a similar sized one that can use the with the brackets. Hopefully easy to replace and setup.

Thanks for looking.

You have a Futurelogic Gen2 printer.  Should be easy to find another one just like it.  The epic printers will require a new bezel for your S9000.

I have someone selling a FutureLogic printer but he said it may be require an EPROM. Is that required to replace a bad future logic? Prefer one that has the required cable to replace, plug and play.

Thanks for looking.

Printers to the best of my knowledge don't use eproms, they are all flashed units.  I would stay away from that.  I can't believe you haven't been able to source one, I didn't think it would be that difficult.  I don't like selling my spares, but I will go look through my pile to see if I have one that will work on a bally S9k machine.

Sorry, I only have 1 spare printer for 6 bally machines that I own, so I can't sell my only spare.  I thought I had more, but all the others are netplex.

Is this a reasonable deal for a used FutureLogic Gen 2 ($69.98 + $6.49 shipping? Includes the printer harness. Would this be consider a plug and play (to replace my bad one)?

As always, appreciate guidance from the experts.

No that is a netplex printer for an IGT S2000 . You need one for Bally S9000 RS232 with harness.

Thanks SixCard. I found another option on Ebay, Would this work for a S9000? The seller said that he was not sure if it would support it.

If the seller doesn't know what he is selling I would look elsewhere. Here's a pic of mine, you don't need one with a USB just the 14 pin plug and says rs232 on it.
