odd model s with odd codes

trying to help someone over the phone. test button is on the board, not near the switch. however, the mpu is on the side, not the back, like a model s plus. is it a model s? but also has a bill validator, which i didnt think a s could support.  anyway, it was showing a code 12.  they successfully installed a battery, but now presents a 4949 in the winner paid, alternating with   _6_6 . i was hoping it would show a 61 and i could talk them thru a reset. its the same mpu that came out of it. any ideas ? in the pic the last 9 in 4949 is missing due to camera refersh rate.  thanks

It is a S+. It has door optics. Did he close and latch the door before turning the key? Looks like accounting mode from turning key with door open

 the door was open when it was turned on, and he never turned the jackpot key.   the door is open, it gets turned on ,and does the 4949 with the door open. never closed, no key turned. thanks

There's a blue potentiometer volume disc on top of the MPU...it's an IGT S+ machine.

Tell your friend how to align the door optics using masking tape and a marker.

I agree about optics. Don't be surprised if he turned the "magic" key when he saw the code 12
