S2000 Reel 1 Tilt at start up

Looking for some advice on my S2000, on start up I get reel 1 tilt and closure door m. I’ve switched reels, problem stays on reel 1. This is an enhanced MPU 1270 with SG362 chips. I have changed both batteries, aligned door optics, swapped reels, etc. the only thing that clears the issue is turning reset key with door open, then close door and it plays normally with no reel tilts.

I’ve been reading many of the past posts with this issue, obviously this is pointing to MPU board. I don’t have a spare so a swap isn’t possible. I read a post made by RB that suggested SG 3XX chips may need to be updated which may help.

Looking for any other suggestions before I start looking for an MPU. Thanks in advance for assistance.

I would get rid of the 362s and replace with 523s on a 1270 board.  This should end the reel tilts.

I agree with Mark upgrade your stepper game chips.  The door closure m is an informational message not an error message.  It's just letting you know the door was open, but is now closed.

I’ve ordered the SP523 chips from RB, I will post when received, hopefully this solves the reel tilt issue.

It should solve your problem. I had 2 boards doing the same as yours. Changed to 523's and never a reel tilt after that.

Received SP523 chips from RB, installed then had to clear and key to eliminate the mismatch. Working good now, so far no reel tilts!
