IGT Price is Right wiring/controller info

Hello,

Hope someone here can help or point me in the right direction...

Long story short, I have a wheel from a Price is Right IGT slot machine.

I'm trying to get this running as a stand alone unit, since I don't have readily available slot machine parts. An electrician friend was able to get the wheel to turn with a stepper motor controller. He states that the motor spins the wheel, but cannot make it slow down or stop. I purchased a A4988 RAMPS Pololu StepStick stepper motor driver in hopes to accomplish this. He cannot proceed further due to lack of schematics/wiring info.
