Hello,
Can someone refer me to help me purchase a replacement battery and restore the stepper slot machine i.e. clear chip or sequence?  I'm helping my client who owns an IGT Red, White & Blue slot machine.
model# 4036A
descp: stepper slot
date mfd: 6/87
current program EPROM: IL2C RWB S Slot
PCB assembly board# 7550520
battery is soldered.  I'm good having a holder of the same type.  Lithium, round, 3.5V, LS 3.  Looks like half of AA battery.

I have photos.

YOU CANNOT replace a NIMH battery with a Li-Ion battery!! They use completely different types of charging circuits. There is very good information on the internet about the topic. BUT, be aware there is also a cesspool :Scratch-Head: of bogus and dangerous information out there. Have Fun and be safe.
UPDATE: This MPU board uses Lithium, Axial, 3.6 Volts battery. Not NIMH. I you to mount a socket for a Lithium disk type battery that fine. But the battery voltage are 3.4 volts. The battery voltage that fall to 2.9 or lower will trigger a error code 12. (low battery) Since the voltage is .2 lower than the original required value it will work but the battery will not last as long. Sorry for the confusion. I was working on another slot that uses the NIMH battery.
