S2000 reels keep spinning

My S2000 Triple Diamond was working perfectly and all of a sudden, all three reels started spinning at a slow rate continuously, even with the door open. There is also a buzzing sound coming from the speakers, and an error message that reads Reels Disconnected, and Door Closure M. The message is the same with the door open or closed.

I re-seated the MPU and all three reels, powered it up, and the issue still remains. The reels are still during the boot-up process until the time they normally spin, then the above issue starts. The only way to stop this issue is to power it off.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

If the "Reels Disconnected" message is gone away, open the door, then flip the Jackpot Reset Key momentarily once.
The reels should stop turning.
Close the door, and the game should be ready to play.

If the "Reels Disconnected" message is still showing upon the blue VFD display on the reel glass, then you may have another much more serious problem quite possibly with a bad Netplex bus on the MPU.

Did exactly what you suggested, and now it works fine.
