WMS 550 pickup today

Evening NLG friends,

I picked up a WMS 550 today. Very exciting for me. It currently has Jackpot Party installed but it included the original Reel Em In chips and cRam Clear chip.

I question for you fine folks.

I would like to disable the hopper and use the hand pay to start and then start the search for a ticket printer and bill validate that will read tickets as I have this system in my other games.

What do I need to do to disable the hopper and switch to hand pay?

You should be able to set a very low hopper limit.  For ticket printer, you need a different set of game chips.  The legacy 550 (the one that uses chips) needs a ticket printer set of chips to enable it.  I have never personally setup a legacy 550 with any of the easily avaialble home tito systems.  I believe they require SAS 3.0 which is not available to the best of my knowledge on any of the wms legacy software options.  You could upgrade your 550 with a NXT board, then you can play most bluebird 1 titles excep those that require an animator button (extra bet/feature button).
