Little help with a Bally E 873 5 coin slot reels not stopping

I have searched the forum looking for information on my machines (Bally E 873) issue and haven’t been able to nail down a cause yet. The machine will work great in (test 8) and reels will index but if you try to use in it play mode the reels will not index (stop) I have checked all fuses and power supply, kick and arm switches, I have done the reader test (forgot what test number?) and all lights on the reader light up. I have seen several other people with similar problem but most seem to be kick and arm switches or a certain reel not indexing but on my machine none of the reels index Unless in test mode (8) and then they will all index without issue.
