I have been working on the Bally video poker machine. Today I upgraded the florescent to the LED. I finished with the locks, all of them are working, I upgraded the motherboard 3.6 battery to a battery holder for future replacement. I have to get ready to reboot the computer with a new battery. They have a procedure that I have to follow.

I found out that this machine actually came from the Primm Valley Casino, I spoke with the business in Las Vegas that originally sold it. The casino in 1995 was booming.

Ok, I have gotten it put together, battery, clear chip, and started it up. It is functioning properly, bets, winnings, everything.
Now the screen is a bit wanky, so I read somewhere about it and a connection, will look into it.

No explosion, no fire, no smoke.........

I'm upgrading the florescent to LCD. I am using the Molex connectors to make it look factory.

Interesting fact that MGM ordered this machine, at the time they owned Primm Valley Resort And Casino. It was purchased 1995.

So I have the Bally V5500 machine in place, on a temporary stand until I locate the proper stand. It's a heavy beast to move by myself, but it is necessary.
Now I have a updated bill validator, LED lights, coming in the mail soon. That will finish the Bally machine. When I locate the stand, I need to modify it for the Bally V5500 machine.

I ordered some quarters for the V5500 machine. It is easier to order the quarters, than try and source them here in the Mat-Su vally.

I'm having a hiccup wit the bill adapter not fitting properly, the money slot is higher than the old one.

It's not a issue, we're going to figure it out.

The head is of the other style, used on models like IGT. Not sure how they converted it to work with Bally. Interesting!
