WBA 12/13 accepting some but not all bills

Hello all,

I have an S+ with a WBA 12/13 BV. I’m trying to figure out what bills it accepts and what it won’t. So far, it takes some ones and none of the new bills. I found a couple old small head 100s and it will take one of those but not both. Just trying to see if this is an issue with the BV itself (needs to be cleaned, etc), and if it will accept the new bills or not. I see there are some updates that can be performed but I have little experience with slots at this point, so any help would be appreciated! Attaching a photo of the BV and MPU as well.

To clarify, I’ve tried only the new bills that have colors on them as well. So ones, the old hundreds, then everything else I have tried are those. Haven’t tried the large headed no color bills.

Can you post a picture of the underside of the BV? Looking to see if you have flash memory type BV or EPROM. Try a new $10, $20, $50

I have the same situation
S+ machine,
WBA-13-SS bill acceptor, looks like flash memory, no eprom.
it takes most 1's and all 100's, even non colored large head,  except colored with stripe.
wont take any large head 5, 10, 20 or 50.

Is there a way to upgrade? if so, what does the latest upgrade accept?
Does anyone here have a working upgraded unit for sale?

I also tried one from an IGT S2000, it  cycled, but when door closed, the bezel did not light up and would not attempt to take a bill so S+ must be different....?

Any help greatly appreciated

For the S+ WBA 13 flash memory can be upgraded to accept the new $5 $10 $20 $50. The protocol for WBA S+ is ID023 and S2000 is ID024 and that's why you can't swap units.  You can have it flashed. NLG member JIM,  Midwest Slots can update your unit or he has refurbished updated units for sale.

Wow I didn’t realize there were this many responses to this. Thank you all for the info, I kept a couple old hundreds I got at the casino and they take fine. I think some of the older bills I was trying were a bit wrinkled when trying them. Takes everything up until the big faced hundreds but not the new bills with the colors. Thank you all!
