I have a problem when I power up my machine all I get is a fast tick out of my speaker and the treasure wheel is lit up going in circles .that's all I can get it to do .on the information meter there is a dash and that's it .who has some ideas where to start

The first thing you need to do is verify that the power supply is providing all 3 necessary voltages.
The power supply is mounted on the back wall behind the reels.
The game needs 5v, 12v and 24v. This is a common problem.

I did that I tested it on the pcb .power supply working as it should
I got all the correct voltages where it's supposed to be

I checked voltages on my board and every where .can it be the chips are bad or what because my credits meters nothing happens and the other meter on the information one well there is a dash mark displaying that's it .is my board shot because I have gone over it and nothing is burnt on it

Hi John
Sometimes things go wrong with the boards and it isn’t something us humans can see with our eyes. That doesn’t mean it’s shot. Believe it or not I have two Sigma SG series that are non- responsive. If you have tried re-seating the ICs that are in sockets, you verified your voltages and you have done the reset procedure, there certainly might be a problem with one of the game proms, a memory chip, bad socket, etc.

The error codes are shown in the manual but I don’t recall seeing just a dash. You might want to double check. You replaced the backup battery, right? Sigmas SG’s will not run without the battery that protect user credits in the event of power loss.

K-Lar, has a test station that can test every function of the board and pinpoint the problem. All you need to do is reach out to them and ship the board. Oh, and pay for it,

Ok the problem is also the machine don't boot up the credits meters they are dead they won't light up or nothing the only thing that does anything is the spiral wheel that lights up and spin around in a circle and I don't have a back up battery the only thing that is acting like a battery is the round flat compaciter that resembles a battery but not .you would think I would get something but no codes and also ticking from the speaker .what's the ticking from

I know Allan at k lar I had him do a board for a old balley I had man I wished I had it still .I would trade my sigma for a balley any day but anyhow I will contact Allan today

That is correct, many Sigma's use a backup capacitor and those do go bad. The Sigma SG50 I had a few years ago wouldn't start until I replaced that. You can use a small Nicad/NiMh battery in place of the capacitor, either way the computer must read voltage on that line in order to boot. Do not use a lithium battery unless it has a jumper to turn off the charge circuit. You can read the voltage on the capacitor just like a battery, it needs to be above 3V I believe.
Sorry I cannot answer what the speaker noise, it's possible the amplifier is running but there is no source so you are hearing another component on the board. It is interesting you mention that because my SG150 that won't boot has the same audio issue.

Ok well I have the board completely out as a matter of fact I had it out before I started messaging about this last :me_too:got a little over 3 volts and I'm thinking that the ticking noise is from the top of of the machine where the spiral wheel is since being it's the only thing that is doing something .I got red lights on my reels my bill validator it just won't wake up but right now I am pulling the the chips and clean the legs on them and re seat them and see if that does anything to wake up this machine.ill let you know what happens :

Ok I pulled the chips and cleaned everything and put it all back together and still the same as before .so I got a hold of allan at klar and he is having me send my board in.when I get it back and plug her in I'll let you know the outcome
