Trick to quiet down the counters on BB machines

This may be well known, apologies if so. 

If you set the Hard Meter Accounting Denom to a large number, the counters barely click at all. Some games will only let you set it as high as $100, but that is still far better than $1.

If you don't have the Mississippi sJur installed, you will get a meter tilt if you disconnect the meters.  The only way to get rid of them on the bb1/bb2 cabinet is to use the Mississippi sJur chip OR use the meter silencer trick.  Basically a 5 watt 10ohm resistor to simulate the meter load.  Here's a link to the old board with the information.

The purpose of my post was to state that if you set the hard meter account denom to a large amount, it will click once for the set amount.  Instead of 1 click for every dollar etc.

This is working on the Columbia chip.  The meters aren't disconnected, but they don't advance because they haven't hit the $100,000 etc. set threshold.

Good trick, I've never seen that option.  I will have to look for it next time I setup a new game.

I have never seen that option in any of the games. I assume thats in the game selection screen with denom setup? How do you get those two options to show?

I believe it is a required setting for the game to be playable.

What game do you have installed? 
That "hard meter" option may not be available for all games.

I haven't found a game that hasn't had it.  I think it is OS dependent.
