IGT I-Game Screen repair and printer configuration

Hi,

I just bought a old igt i game stinkin rich and the screen display will not work. I have hooked up a alternate monitor and it displays on there fine. When I touch the screen it does work however no video is showing up. The screen does have a green light in the front as well. I am looking to fix this monitor but not sure which part would need to replaced or if its just a guessing game. I have attached a picture of each of the parts, let me know if you need any more info/pictures.

When testing the printer to cash out, it auto goes to hand pay no matter the payout. I have checked the jackpot limit and its at 1200 and when i went to the printer test it printed out a test ticket just fine. I don't have a tito but just want it to be able to print out tickets for cash out. Do I need to set up any of the communication options even when Im not using a tito? Let me know if you have insight on this as well?

The inverter boards are high failure items and will cause your problem, but it could be something else.  I'd replace it first.  It's the board with the high voltage warning stickers on it.

Thanks! Is there any sort of test that you know for me to identify which part could be the issue? Also I see on the part it says GH059A rev 5. I also see a lot of similar parts like this one:https://patriotgaming.com/023-10a411300010.html

I'm looking for the best price one as the ones listed on ebay are 80+.

I don't know of any to test it without replacing it with a known good one.  They used to be $30 - $40, but I guess the price has gone up like everything else.  Other possibilities are the CCFL tubes themselves are bad, or the A/D board.  The Inverter and power supply are the two most common failure items, but since yours has a lit green LED on the top the power supply is probably good.

If you are touching the screen and it works (the game seems to be running) it's not the board. Most likely dead lights in the panel itself. You can replace these with led lights but it's a nasty repair and far too easy to destroy the panel. You can buy a replacement panel for around $125, much easier than trying to replace the lights. It can also me the electronic starter board, if it's dead the panel won't light.

Which one is the electronic starter board? Is that the inverter board tilt was mentioning?

Update:

I have replaced that part finnaly and the screen works! The last issue remaining is the printer. I have a gen2 netplex printer installed. It is enabled in the menu and I have ran a test ticket and it prints fine. When I go to the limits the jackpot is also set to 1200 however anytime I try to cash out, the machine instantly goes to handpay and I dont understand why. Usually its due to the limits set or the printer disabled but both are good and it works when I use the printer test. Any thoughts?

Glad the inverter fixed your monitor issue.  If you want to print tickets you really should get a TITO board and then you can put them back in the machine.  Without a TITO board you can print the ticket, but it won't be accepted.

I plan on installing a Tito eventually but for now I’m just trying to get it to print the ticket on cash out. Here is the validation and channels settings. I’m guessing I’ll need to set chip it and change the validation to standard?

Hi,

Follow up on this one, I have been using the machine for a few hours on and off with no issue. Yesterday I played on it for a while and left it on for about 6-8 hours. I came back to it later in the day and saw it had 3 errors. Printer communication failure, Touch screen communication failure and BV comm failure. I unseated the bv and no such luck has the same errors. Unseat the printer and no such luck and reseated the screen with no such error. I'm guessing something maybe gave out after being on for 12+ hours? I have read another similar post and it it was the mpu. I unfortunately don't have another similar board to test with. Also i assumed it was the bv because I have had issues with the bv loading the bills into the box but unplugging it/changing it didn't remove any errors.

All three are netplex controlled. Likely a MPU issue. Is your MPU fan working?

No. With machine turned off slide out the MPU.  Now look on right side where tray was and you will find the fan RB is talking about.  MPU will get very hot without that fan working properly.

Look inside the cabinet at the housing you just pulled the MPU tray from. It's behind the bill validator.
