WMS BB1 stepper Touchscreen not working

Hello,


The machine worked before, even if it did not have the Hot Button card. I have a 2nd WMS BB1, I took the hot button card that I put on the other one and I could play with it.

When I turned the machine back on, which had been off for about 6 months, I got a Bill Device Error. The bill reader worked before.

I did a clear ram, I get the setup screen except that the touchscreen no longer works at all. It is the small screen at the bottom right under the rollers.

Here is a video where I also try to calibrate the screen.

When I press it, we see ripples on the right side of the screen as if I were touching the screen while I am pressing on the left.

I unplugged / plugged the VGA cable and touchscreen cable and the error is still there.

It's the same problem as Ash100 in this post:

Do you have any ideas to guide me?

The ripples are not created by the touchscreen, they are a response to the pressure applied to the glass and thus causing the LCD to ripple.  If you do a touchscreen test (not a calibration), do you see the white trails somewhere.  The screen is sensing some kind of touch since the calibration procedure responds to the touch.  If the touchscreen test does not show the white trails, or the trails are shown elsewhere, there might be a problem with the touchscreen's matrix and would need to be replaced.

Thanks for the info, do you know how I get into this test mode?
If it's through the touch menu buttons I won't be able to do it.

The screen and touchscreen come back to life !!! 

I removed the screen from the door and then disassembled it.

I wanted to clean the entire touch part and then reassemble the whole thing.
I wiped the entire glass part with a damp cloth (window cleaner) and the edges were really dirty.

Finally I managed to get the touch screen and I did a calibration.

I don't know what really helped to restart the screen but the machine is working again and that's the main thing!!!

Yes, I'm glad the touchscreen is working again.
I had removed the cable harness that goes from the touchscreen to the motherboard. I sprayed some contact cleaner and reconnected. It still didn't work.
When disassembling the assembly I also pressed on the ribbon that powers the touchscreen, the problem was perhaps a bad contact at this point.

For future members who have the same problem, you should try disassembling and cleaning before buying a new screen.
