S2000 Keychips
« on: December 01, 2014, 03:46:59 am »
I am looking at obtaining chips for my Igt S2000 triple double wild cherry. I want to get the latest ones that support this machine and also leave the possibly for changing game themes in the future and be compatible as well.    :Scratch-Head:

Current Chips In My Machine
Game 1 : SG000362  (6/25/05)
Game 2 : SG000362  (6/25/05)

Version Chip: VS011GX1 (8/20/04)

Base : SB100661

1. Looking into changing the game 1 and 2 chips.  How About SG000363?  Can I also use  380,523,597 or 598?  Would like to have the latest chip installed and compatible.

2. Clear Chip - I want to have it, even though I may not need it at this point and time. Sounds like I can use IVC00097 for SG363 or lower. IVC224 For higher than SG363. I know I
may not ever need to use this chip. Only for just in case.

3 Key Chips - Keychip 31 sounds like the way to go for SG363 and higher. If SG563 is compatible then Keychip 45.

I understand now that SB Chips are the actual game themes and paytables.

Here Are Some Pictures of my mpu board:

On that MPU/game I would use these:

598 SG's (or 523's, difference is cashout button blinks I believe.)
IVC224 Clear
Key 45

You'll be good to go on game changes etc down the road.  :cool_thumb_up:

When installing new stepper game 1 and 2 chips, do I have to do a ram clear first?

Not necessary for 99% of the time, just replace chips and clear errors.

If you are changing from SG003xx to SG003xx or SG005xx to SG005xx you should just clear errors with jackpot key. Anytime I have changed from SG003xx to Sg005xx or vice versa, I get a machine type mismatch as if I did a ram clear & have to key chip it.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

I just swapped out the SG00362 and put in the SG00598. I am getting machine type mismatch , Call Attendant and Closure M.  At the top of the display it is also showing "1 Credit = ----".  I turn the jackpot key, but it only goes into a menu starting with Accounting.

I was able to change the machine type without having to key chip. That error is gone. Now it is saying accounting Denom unknown. So I go in to try to set the accounting Denom and it won't let me enter it . So I know I have to key chip. I then learned that in order to set the accounting Denom a ram clear has to be done. I replaced the stepper base chip with a IVC00224 clear chip. Then have to wait for 2 amber lights. Well actually when I power on all lights on the mpu are on and the bottom red led us blinking every second. What gives?
