« on: September 14, 2024, 07:37:50 pm »
Hey guys, any help on why as soon as my machines is powered on after a few secconds there is always an annoying audible humming static sort of noise that is constant but sort of subtle and ear pearcing. it is an older mk5 cabinet upgraded to mk6 im pretty sure.

Failing op-amp sending a high-pitched hiss through the speakers? If it's what I'm thinking of. I hate MK6s like that with a passion, techs usually just pull the speaker wires to shut it up until it can be fixed!

Older (pre-1998) MK5/MKV or Series II/MVP? Shouldn't matter but IIRC the speakers are different (e.g. MVP/MK5 Series II has two speakers, MKV doesn't), that said the ones I remember the most with that annoying whine were Xcites ironically.
