S9000 Fan Lubrication?

I’ve got a S9000 (Alpha Elite) with a very noisy fan on the CPU enclosure. It is the forward facing fan, not that it matters. I’ve read through the sticky thread discussing fans, and one member mentioned “cleaning and lubricating” the fans.

I pulled and opened the CPU enclosure from the MPU and blew out the gunk with canned air, but does anyone have any photos or videos of any procedures for lubricating them? Or am I going to just bite the bullet and replace any with excessive bearing noise?

My guess is you are talking about one on the ATX power supply. A squirt of spray lube wouldn't hurt but I would replace it. You are only prolonging the inevitable.

Thank you sir… appears that you are the answer man! Thanks for setting me straight on the proper component enclosure name - is there a document or diagram outlining the module and part names? Terminology is so crucial, and I have yet to find such a reference.

Also - any input on manual sources like 8 Line Supply? I’m an old guy and am very used to reading and referencing printed manuals and diagrams.

I am really an IGT man but I do have moderate experience with the Bally Alpha platform. There are docs and manuals in the NLG file system but you have to be a contributing member to access that.
