S9000 Service Button intermittent

On one S9000 I bought, the service button is intermittent. At times I’m able to trigger it with two or three presses and at other times it takes several presses before it activates.

I’ve tried working all around the button to see if one area is more responsive, but I don’t find any area to be more effective.

Is this an indication the button needs to be replaced, or is there something else I need to look into?

All of the other buttons appear to function without issue.
