Revert from loading IGT AVP Game King 8.3R Game Loader Family 14

Hi everyone - Absolute newbie here, learning incredibly slowly, and I'm hoping someone can help me out.  I bought an IGT AVP G23 a little while back with "Stinking Rich" preloaded on it.  I have my ekey and a diag key, and recently (successfully) added a 2nd game.

Bought the above "IGT AVP Game King 8.3R Game Loader Family 14", thinking I could load what was on there game wise.  Followed the process to load what was on the stick, and now I just get a jumbled red display when I reboot.  Booted into the diagnostic key, and looking to see if recovery is as simple as removing whatever package that had been added? Or did I seriously mess this up? I unfortunately don't have a list of what packages were on there before, and having a difficult time finding references to the packages on there now...

GameKing loads really should be the only thing on the system.  It has a quick setup, kind of a 1 for all, and some 120 or so card games.

It isn't just one game.  It also loads several feature packages for it.   So if you want it to be all card games, poker, blackjack, and roulette.  You should just have that as the only game installed.

The actual GameKing 8.3R game ID is Game014-001GKA-D02

I'd remove that first with the diag, then boot normally and see if it goes back to how it was.

If not, easy enough to wipe the machine, load the OS, and any "individual" games you want.  But if you do want it to be just a GameKing, there is a loading order where it comes out just right.

Steps for loading for a GameKing game set.

Boot with ekey and diag key.  Wipe NVRAM, Safestorage, and Drive.

Turn off the machine, plug in OS loader 14B0E and your ekey and power on.
OS will install and report when it's done and says to reboot.

Turn off and remove the OS loader and ekey, and power on.  Complete initial config of the machine until reaching “no games configured".   

Then shut down.  Now plug in the ekey and GameKing 8.3R loader and power on.  That will load the GameKing set and it's feature packages.   Once complete.  Power off, remove the loader and ekey.

Finally power on again with no keys in.  No games configured will come up.  Plug in your ekey.  And in the menu, you can setup individual games from the set.  Or select an "EZSETUP" option specific to a GameKing package loaded that will configure about 41 games for you.

Some 121 available, you can also just enable games/denominations as you choose as well.

If you have all the parts here, takes about 15 minutes.


To clear and load individual games like Stinkin Rich and other single game titles.  You want to do it differently, it's one less reboot. 

If you do not load a GameKing set...

Turn off and remove the OS loader and ekey and power on.  Complete initial config of the machine until reaching “no games configured".   Now you can plug in your USB key with your games and load them in Game > Package Management, then Enable them in the Game > Enable/Disable menu.  No need to reboot.  Once installed and enabled, when you exit and close up the machine the games are ready to go. 

I've done this exactly many times and never had an issue.

I pulled the one package, but now getting some obscure "recoverable" error regarding a feature package manager... so I'm going to just start over - lesson learned!
