bally 1090..only pays on 777...lots of wires cut  is this a modification to pay only on 777 nothing else pays all else seems to work fine but only pays on the 7s  one two or 3coin all work on 777...have pics but cant seem to load them..ok one loaded

It’s common to find a harness with unused wires. Start by troubleshooting a single credit only. The no pay could be a number of things. Verify all the wiper fingers are making contact on the payout unit board. Also verify each payout value printed at the bottom of the board has wires soldered. Without a schematic you’ll want to ohm out the wires as they enter and leave the reels. You’re looking for continuity from one side to the other when the reels are lined up for a win. Check the wipers on the reel levers to insure they’re making good contact with the buttons. Check the Beau plugs at the back of the reel mech and insure all the pins are solid, no broken wires, and that the pins don’t move in with pressure. Check the relays at the back of the reel mech for broken wires.

Thinking the 7s payout circuit is separate from the bars.
Possibly an open circuit from the bars to the payout step up unit.

This is Low tech,
With the bars in a paying position try rocking the reels up and down about 1/4 inch.
The machine might respond.

check the "open at 50 sw" on the payout counter.  It's the vertical one near the end on the trace/wiper side of the board.  Make sure it's closed until the counter makes around 50 steps.

the reel wiring is shown on the schem.

however, your wire colors don't match the schematic, so it's likely your machine was cobbled together from parts.  Not a big deal assuming they did it right :-) 

below is a reel wiper wiring blueprint that matches the 1090-37 schematic - even if they wire colors are wrong, how the rivets are wired together and connected between the wiper boards should be the same.  Personally, I'd try and make what you have match the diagram/schematic so it's easy to maintain in the future.  The wire id -> color code is on the schematic.  e.g 90 = solid grey wire, 23 = mostly blue with yellow tracer, etc.

It’s possible the contracts that ride on the receiver strips are not making contact.
These are located on the payout counter step up unit bottom right back corner of the machine.
