Little green men weird sound issue

Hello community,

I have 2 Game kings and multiple MPU boards. Also have 2 versions of Little Green Men. One with the sound sim and he other with the sound chips.   I had Little green men loaded, when one of my MPU's went bad.  No big deal I switched to another MPU board. Now when I press the the spin the button the spin sound doesn't stop when the reels stop. The stop click noise sounds like buzzing along with any other sound efx, but the reel spin is clear it just doesn't stop. . Nothing stops the reel spinning sound unless I open the machine.  Sound test works perfect.  So to test the MPU I changed the game out for Risque Business and South Park. Both played perfectly on the same MPU. Next, reinstalled LGM and tried it in my other Game King, same issue. So I tried my second set of software for LGM. Changed the sound board to the chip version. Same issue.  tried a different MPU.  Same issue.  replaced all game ROMs with my second set of software.  Same issue. 

Arrrrrrrrrg.

Has anyone seen this issue before?

Ok I figured it out.  I made the mistake of believing that the game king would have no sound if you remove the sound card.  This is not true.  So the first thing I did was remove the sound card, and booted up the machine with just the MPU no daughter board.  And what do you know.  Same issue with default wheel spinning. I then added the sound card with the sim.  Same result.  I then carefully looked at the other card I had with the 4 sound chips.  One was backwards.  I corrected the orientation and installed the card.  Now I have sound.  So in the end,  the issue was that when the MPU went bad it, somehow blew the sound sim. The sound board is good, because I can put another game on the board at it works fine.  Hope this helps someone in the future.

Thanks. I guess the big take away for me,  was that the Game King has sound with or without the daughter board.

Same for s2000's, there are some generic sounds included in the stepper/base or game eproms. S2000's without a sound simm sound like an S+.
