Bally 5000 plus ram clear

I found this and I do have the AS-3356-74

Use this procedure if the machine is equipped with a door distribution board number: AS-3356-74

1) Switch off machine
2) Remove the J-1 connector on the door distribution board.
3) Jump pin 5 and pin 11 together.
4) Press and hold the pseudo coin button on the door distribution board
5) Switch on and wait until the win meter displays "CH" before releasing the button.
6) The win meter display should change to "CL" and all the buttons should flash.
7) Switch off and return J-1 connector.

I am looking for clarification so I don’t fry anything

I believe that I DO NOT use the U12 and U15 clear EPROMs?

On door distribution board J1 has a ribbon cable connected
I removed it and number of pins are like this (from left to right )
6 pins, than one blank space, than 21 pins


Do I count pins from left to right (pin 5 would be located where there are 6 pins)?
Do I count the space for pin 11?

Forgot to mention it’s a 3 reel machine.

Also would the same procedure work on my other one with an AS3356-10 door distribution board (it looks considerably different) it also as a J1 same as the other one

I figured out that disconnecting the top board will clear the ram on the machine with the AS-3356-10 door distribution board no U12 or U15 clear chips required. I have no idea how the other distribution board clears. I tried jumping what it think was pin 5 and 11 but did nothing. Maybe clear chips required?

Spent a lot of time following clear ram procedure and came to the conclusion that if your battery is good unsolder the negative leg. Reconnect it 82 should appear, push door button and turn (or push reset button on right hand of machine) when additional codes appear push test button, cycle through the ten tests, close door and see what codes are there. Hit reset button on board and away you go.
