EZ Config Backup or New Game Install?

Merry Christmas folks!  I finally got my slots in and I've had a little time to mess around with them and surprisingly I have not completely broken them!  The only outstanding issue I have on my Bally 2727 is one of the printers has a fault and I have no idea how to clear it.

When they came in one of the batteries was dead and so I replaced them but that caused me to have to RAM clear.  Did that and was able to get the game back up by restoring the backup in the EZ Config menu.  Later I did the persistent wipe and that backup file was lost!  Oh no, but thankfully i have two machines and I was able to backup the ez config from the menu in the second one and then load that on the first one.  Pretty surprising how easy that was really.

I did try to install a different game but I don't know how.  The only way I was able to get to the screen where I think that happens is if I booted with one of the ArgOS installers - I have AIN000000K but when i boot with it there is some error about an ez config for a game I don't have.  It wasn't able to see the games I popped in there to see if it could detect even though I have several sets that I would assume work together.

Any idea how to go about loading a different game on one?

For instance I have Ultra Hot Mega Link Amazon and with it the multilink paytable, an a2dd which I assume is the license, the A2dd game instlal, and another USB with what I think is the os/jurisdiction/other stuff.

How do I install that, if I put those USBs in there wiht the AIN000000K it doesn't work.  Thoughts?

Also any guidance on clearing the fault on my JCM Global GEN5 printer?

Ok so I've wiped one of these puppies and now I'm learning some real lessons lol.  Sounds like I'm going to be on the hunt for very specific windows/bios versions.  I have one set that works 4x windows but the bios won't install because my bios is read only.  The result is a boot to windows f1 recovery/uefi bios.

If you wiped the SSD your ballly 27/27 requires a specific windows version for Alpha 2. You can not use one for Twinstar machine. The bios should be fine, since it’s on an independent chip located on the board.  You need to load in 3 files to get going, the os, windows and a jurisdiction.

I cloned the ssd on the second machine and I'm back in business.  I don't have a different working windows version, the other 4x one I have fails.
Do I have to update teh OS/Win/Jur to install a new game?  I'm now trying to install just games without changing those other settings.  So far no work but it does seem to get a lot farther along.

Just installing a game brings me to the ez config manager, but there are no restore points and I have no backups on USB to load.  Should something else be happening?

EZ Config is usually just skipped if a new game has been installed.  After that it takes you to the setup screens

So here is a question.... when I got this machine there were three games loaded in the argos system.  If I clear ram I can swap between them from the menu.  How does that happen/work?  I have a few more games that fit the cabinet well is there a way to add them in with the other three?

Ok well looks like you can install games together sometimes.  Interesting.  I think what I have is a Twinstar Upright.  It has the sparkle things at the top.  Not sure if that is the same or different than the bally 2727.  Either way the lock it link style games fit it the best.  Guess I'm on the hunt for as many of those as possible.

Whats the deal with the licenses?  I don't think I've ever been asked for one, a few games have them and I put them in there but others don't and it doesnt seem to complain?

Im thinking you are using a Dev BIOS that is not looking for license dongles. My WMS gamescape came that way. On the bottom of game screen was memory usage data always showing. I switched bios and it now wants dongles and does not show that data anymore.

Yep that's exactly what's happening.   I'm not sure that i like it but i also don't hate it lol.
