WMS 401 Error message help

A Fantastic New Year to ALL at NLG. I’m trying to help a friend with this machine and I’ve Only worked on One if these machines several years ago. The battery was dead So it was replaced and when the machine was turned On display showed “GAME CHANGE….2”. Pushed the Red momentary switch and display Now shows “NEED CLEAR”. Do I need to do some kind of “RAM CLEAR” now? Or is it different on this brand of machine?  Any and ALL suggestions/support would be greatly appreciated, Thank You.

Your friend trashed the machine because the Transformer was bad? They usually only go bad if a coin gets wedged back there. Are you sure the Transformer is bad? I would have tried to clear chip first. Like Sunnyside mentioned; Transformers are available. I have a spare one for myself. They are extremely heavy so shipping might cost a little more but it's still an easy fix.

YOU 2 are absolutely correct. I was Very Upset when I went back over to his house and saw it in his dumpster. My Time is Very Precious to me. In the future when his Jukebox, Microwave, Anything goes bad, I’m going to pass on investing mine and other Folks time. Take Care.

Is it to late to get parts from it? MPU, I/O, PDU, BV, glass and strips, hopper? Whole machine?

Sorry for late response, A real idiot that I don’t/won’t help again. He threw the entire machine in his dumpster at work. So many usable parts someone could use, even me. Block that number!!!
