Games on board
« on: January 05, 2025, 10:44:58 pm »
I purchased a new board for my draw poker machine.  I had a board with one game, and now the new board allows me to play more than one.  I am unclear on how many games are on the board  The confusion is because of the main menu screen.  There are five games to chose from, but other games are pictured above the choices over the buttons.  Are they somewhere on the board?

I have attached a picture.

Please help.

Moved from "Homebrew Player Tracking and EFT Systems"  to IGT PE and PE Plus Poker Games

What machine do you have? Please post a photo of your machine.

jmosser,

It might be best if you can post a photo of your replacement PCB showing the labels on the main eproms and the "MRO, MGO, MBO and MXO" eproms.

Your new board is a superboard which allows you to run multipoker software (or use a wingboard) that has 5 poker games available.

You can look to see what software is available for your PE+ by going to the Online Game Bible.
Its under Ricks FAQs. Please note that this is not the full list but what was available to us at the time.
BrianT one of our members has comprised a much more comprehensive list along with a matrix of compatibility.

PE+ poker games are comprised of.
Program Chip, Data Chip
MXO, MRO, MGO, MBO (which are 4 color eproms)
and a CAP (standard board) or a CAPX (Superboard).

Many of the Poker games use the same set of graphics chips ....
....and you can get away with using the wrong set of graphic chips (colors look a bit off) and sometimes the card backs are missing (always best to have the right set to match the game)
This is why Brian created the compatibility matrix.

Some of the original games used only a Program Chip in the standard (non superboard) + The graphic chips.
All of the newer games used 2 chips.

Only the superboard can run the Multi-game poker set and certain other select titles.
The multi-game poker is contained on 2 chips just like any other title.

The WingBoard is an add on for the superboard and allows you to select 5 games (of your choosing) - It simply plugs into the program slot and has 5 program slots to fill.
The cavet is that all 5 games must use the same graphics and data chip.\
The wing boards are not that common so I would suspect that you are probably running a multi-game set.

The game from your original board could be put on the superboard just by moving the chips but you would need a CapX chip instead of the Cap chip you have.
Cap and CapX are not interchangeable.

The above advice is correct.

Your graphics EPROMs do not match the GAME and DATA EPROMs installed on your board.

The Multi Game chipset allows for exactly five different games. The game graphics and titles on the selection buttons on the menu screen should match.

Thank everyone for your valuable advice.  I intend to purchase the chip set that has the games on the screen above the games that are pictured above the games that are on the board now.  Where can I do this, and does anyone know what chip sets I need?  I have a PE + multi game board now.

Thanks

What Program and Data Chip are on your board.  There should be a sticker on the top of the chips
These two chips hold the games. What you need is the correct graphics chips and associated CAPX chip.

I have attached a copy of BrianT's spreadsheet.

What Program and Data Chip are on your board.  There should be a sticker on the top of the chips

I'll echo Jay's question. What chips do you have now? Make sure that the power is OFF when removing or inserting your board.

You can alternately determine your chip numbers without removing the board with the following procedure:
  • With the main door CLOSED, turn the jackpot reset key switch once.
  • At the menu displayed, press the Deal/Draw button once for Machine Meters.
  • Turn the jackpot reset key switch six times to show the screen that looks like the one attached to this post. Let us know what numbers are displayed for your Data PROM ID, Game PROM ID, and Character Program.
  • Turn the jackpot reset key switch a number of additional times until you see the "Verifying game memory, please wait" message to return to normal gameplay.

Data chip XM00004P is the only Multi Poker set with Nevada Bonus Poker as one of the game options. You'll need that Data chip for sure. Depending on the other chips in your machine, that may be the only chip you need to change out.
