Testing a 3802 board in a 3902 machine

I came across a 3802 machine that someone was trashing. The CRT monitor isn’t working, I found Ceronix 1493 board has a nice charred section on the bottom of the board.
I was wondering what this 3802 board had on it and was wondering if I can test it in my 3902 machine?
Also was wondering if I can swap the 8 pin 24LC16 chip along with it as I do when changing games? Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. 3802 will work in the cabinet and you can move the EEPROM as well.

Thanks will try it. As far as replacing the Ceronix 1493 board, Does Anyone have any idea where I can obtain another One? Or Do I need to post something under the Monitor Category?

I changed the battery and then installed this 3802 board and backplane eeprom. When I fired it up machine displayed the key reset and hold 2-3 seconds, It then displayed “LINE FREQUENCY ERROR”.I closed the door and “LINE FREQ. ERROR” went away. Also I noticed the 17” monitor in the 3902 machine has everything shifted to the right. I tried the self adjustment button on the monitor, screen was realigned for a couple of seconds and went back to having display shifted to the right again. Going from 13” CRT to this 17” LCD might need something else done?
I also have NO sound, checked levels and they were All set on Maximum Volume. I’m Not sure if the sound ever worked before and I did remove the sound card to get the board removed from the tray for replacing the battery. This is My first experience with a 3802 and this style sound board. Any advice/suggestions would be great.

Make sure your sound card is installed properly. It's hard to get them lined up over the pins and the pins bend easily.
Not sure why your monitor won't remember the settings but I've set them up on a 17" and 19" LCD.

I’m making Progress. I pulled the sound chips out on that card and reseated them. AMAZING, I have sound now. Is the Monitor Voltage supposed to be 230 Volts? I’m measuring 257VAC across the Top right and next pin down from it. They are the Blue and Brown wires going into the monitor receptacles?

The AC input to the monitors on the older 13" and 19" Game kings is 230 - 250 VAC depending on your input line voltage.  There's 1:2 step up transformer in the power distribution box that steps it up if using US line voltage which is typically 110 - 125 VAC.  If wired for 220VAC (overseas) then the transformer is a 1:1 isolation transformer and the voltage to the monitor = the input voltage:

If you don't have any raster lines with the brightness turned all the way up or feel static from the high voltage section then it is not coming up for some reason. If you have 230 VAC at the 19 pin monitor plug than a bad CRT tube could cause that I suppose, but it would seem more likely that something on the board itself is bad...even though it's supposed to be "new".

Problem Solved, GK is working Fantastic Now. I took the power distribution box out,(picture) and did some Voltage testing. 2 pin Molex connector (Blue&Brown wires) has 257 Volts. I have been so blessed meeting such Nice folks in the slot machine world. “SOCAL CHRIS” who is the absolute “MASTER OF MONITORS” stopped by My home and picked up My Burnt up Ceronix 1493 monitor. The Very next day I was playing this 3802 GK. Not Only is Chris a Very Nice human being, He’s a FANTASTIC teacher of electronics.
I would like to Thank ALL the members of the NLG family for their Continuous help they give me in this Ever growing hobby of mine, 71 machines Now!!!

Wow, hearing that from a man who understands electronics at a level I can’t comprehend is pretty flattering.
I don’t know if I am a master or just slightly desperate! If its broken someone needs to fix it! LOL

I should have taken an after picture, but for the record here is a picture of the damage. We could not find a replacement 1493 board that matched the resolution so there was little option but to repair the burned section.

I used a hole punch to get a piece of circuit board from a spare and super glued it in. I then drilled a hole for the yoke pin that burned up. I Soldered jumpers for all the burned traces and viola! It worked.

Yoke pins are very important to watch, if the solder starts separating or drying up those pins start arcing and eventually end up like this.
