BB1 & 2 sound amplifiers

Quick question: Are the sound amplifiers the same on the BB1 & BB2 machines?  If not, what is the difference?

There are typically 2 versions found.  A green one that was used early on.  It lacks the SPDIF jack for digital audio used on bb2 cabinets.  The blue (a later green ones) amps typically have both input types, although the wiring might be different.  The newer amps use an RCA jack for the digital audio and a stereo minijack for the analog sound.  In the early amps,  only an analog input was provided and it was through flat connector plug.  You need to look at how your amp is connected to the cabinet to determine which is the easiest way to replace it.  In the worst scenario, you would just need a different harness for the analog sound.

One more thing, if you have a subwoofer equipped machine you'll want to make sure you have the later versions that have the subwoofer output.
Mixing components which I have purposely done for testing results is vastly suboptimal sound.
