Identification Help

Hello everyone! I just picked up this bad boy for next to nothing, and I am having some trouble identifying what type of AVP machine this is. I know it is an AVP 3.0M brainbox, and a 20 inch MLD display, and was manufactured in 2010. Is it just a universal cabinet or something? I have been searching the forums, but none of the machines I have seen seem to look quite like mine.

These forums have been a life saver so far, although it is pretty upsetting to learn that a 400+ dollar USB stick is required to change the settings! It was doing a red screen, non recoverable error (invalid SafeStorageBlockHeap), which made it seem like if I did the reset key I would have to have the ekey to reoption the machine. Luckily with some light jiggling of the brainbox, it now boots up to a green, call attendant screen, saying to turn the reset key to reset the video display. This seems like a good sign, and it is making the wait for the reset key to arrive painful.

Looks like a round top G20.  Open the door and press the test button for more info. You don't have a standard jackpot reset key?

Thanks, I appreciate the info! Are round top G20s less common or just less preferred? I can't even find I picture of one that looks similar.

Unfortunately I do not have a jackpot reset key yet, but it should be here early this week. I am just hoping that I won't need the ekey yet.

Less common and I remember something about you can't install game king poker sets on the round tops.

It is a roundtop smld, not a g20.

Interesting, thanks! I am still trying to read everything, and that definitely helps. It seems that the controls on these (https://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=36636.0) do look most similar, but they have square tops.

Those are trimlines.  There are many cabinets that igt put the 3.0 avp mpus in.  They made roundtop versions of the g20 and the smld.  Yours is an smld, which is basically an all video version of an savp.  The cabinet is distinct as the lower front door hinges down instead of being a removable panel like a g20 and also the pull handle was not avaiable on a g20.

Just got my reset key in and not surprisingly nothing seems to happen when turn it except the screens briefly resetting and then it gets stuck back at the green call attendant message, but when I open the door there are no messages.

I would guess this will need the ekey to fix, but if there are any other suggestions before I am forced to buy one I am all ears.

After you open the door press the white test button located near the ribbon cable on brainbox.

I pressed it and nothing happened. Before when I was getting the non recoverable error with the invalid SafeStorageBlockHeap, the white test button took me to the log. Doesn't seem to want to do that now...
