Mystery Chip in Bottom of Machine

Hello everyone.  I just picked up a Konami Advantage+ for next to nothing, and I am in the process of making it work. I have already ordered a clear CF card to hopefully fix the 725 Backup Game Data ID Mismatch error. Today my tubular lock pick arrived, so I was finally able to take a look inside the machine. I found something rather concerning; a square, loose chip at the bottom of the machine. I have attached some pictures of it.

My question is what is this and where does it go? Perhaps a security chip of some sort because it says warranty void if removed? Thanks for the help!
